Milestones and Grief

One common message I’ve received in my readings is that our loved ones in heaven gather together to celebrate our milestone moments with us. They’ve told me they’re with us at family BBQs, birthdays, weddings and they even talk to your future children telling them all about their loving parents before they arrive.

It’s hard to imagine with our rational minds that the only thing standing between us and those we’ve seemingly lost is a thin veil dividing our physical selves from the spiritual side. Imagine you’re standing in a room with a curtain separating you from a friend- you can’t see them but that doesn’t mean they aren’t with you. Death makes us believe they’re gone but it’s just a physical separation.

Milestone moments remind us of the loss. We carry the grief with us quietly, trying not to let heartbreak take over a happy occasion. Our wedding was one of the happiest moments of my life but that doesn’t mean my heart wasn’t reminded throughout the entire process of all of the people who couldn’t be there physically.

I wanted to share how I coped with that. We created a memorial table, inspired by some poetry and ideas I saw on Pinterest, that was fairly simple but important to us.

I wanted to remind everyone who was secretly thinking “I wish you were here,” that the room was much fuller than it appeared. It was packed with loved ones we’ve lost and those who came before us - celebrating love and life.

I believe God is Love. So when we come in celebration of love - we are really gathering in celebration of the Almighty that brought us together. And since our souls are all part of Him (or Her/it/them, whatever you believe) there’s no real division because our energy comes from one main source. The veil may make it harder to see those who have crossed over but it can’t make us stop feeling their presence every day, especially during celebrations.

A few days after the wedding I was shown a vision of everyone listed here standing in the church with happy tears and big smiles. They were so joyful for this union and that meant the world to me.

Whatever your next memorable moment is- remember that you’ve got spiritual cheerleaders each step of the way❤️
